Technical Buyer

Responsibilities:

* Produce purchase orders from daily generated reports and purchase requisitions, along with the day to day purchasing requirements associated with production.

* Ensure all purchase orders have confirmed prices and agreed to ETA’s by the end of each working day.

* Seek competitive quotes working with engineering approximetely15% of the time.

* Works daily with engineering to identify alternative suppliers and sourcing of discontinued/obsolete/poor availability.

* Conduct quarterly domestic supplier scorecard to confirm supplier compliance with purchasing conditions for the brand.

* Update the details of any assigned department and interdepartmental projects on Smartsheet.

* Inform purchasing manager of any notified price increases and the outcome of any non-approval prior to accepting any final agreement with supplier.

* Backup to purchasing manager.

* Adheres to purchasing policies, processes and procedures.

* Carries out warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures.

* Negotiates best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements.

 

Experience:

* 5+ years’ experience in Purchasing, Engineering, or Operations in a Manufacturing environment.

* Global Purchasing experience.

* Background using ERP/SAP programs and all Microsoft Office products.

* Strong technical acumen with knowledge of component manufacturing and assembly processes; ability to read mechanical drawings.

* Ability to work in a team environment in a support/service capacity as well as individually.

* Negotiation, problem solving and financial analysis skills.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Energetic, self-motivated individual able to work in fast paced, schedule based environment.

* Must be able to multi-task and proactively solve problems.

* Must have an understanding of logistics.

* SalesForce and Visual ERP experience a plus
